Summer Camp by JAC and AiM in Englewood

One of the things that I like about my church, Metro Community is its out reach.

  •  AIM (Arts in Ministry) directed  by Pastor Doug Cho and
  • JAC (Justice Advocacy & Compassion) directed by Suah Hwang are two that I work in that connects with the children of Englewood.

Each year we do a week long Summer Camp. Offering a multitude of classes taught by professionals. Our job is to involve and assist the children in constructive activities of the ARTS. We have painting and music taught by Estela. The kids loved the bells! Who knew making lip moisturizer in arts and crafts classes would be such a hit, Ashley had to get more supplies.  Jewelry making, taught by me, Deborah, was a hit. It's not me, its the beads they are irresistible. Pilates, was taught by our earth mother, Georgette. The children learned about movement and taking care of their bodies.  Marcia, kept it moving teaching rhythmic African dance moves. Mike, taught Hip Hop Dancing the kids loved it.

This is the 4th year and the larges classes, over 160 children. Next year there will be some changes, Improvements that will allow us to touch and love on even more children. None of this could have been done without our awesome volunteers. IJ. I couldn't have done it with out you. Kisses and hugs to them.

I started this with a prayer and enthusiasm. Ended it tired but filled with joy and most of all a prayer of thanks!
