Englewood Summer Arts Program

SUMMER VOLUNTEERS WANTED: It's almost that time of year... for Englewood's annual Summer Arts Program! Metro Community Center is currently looking for volunteers to teach (or assist) a variety of activities, such as face-painting, dance, sports, slime-making, painting, jewelry-making, arts and crafts – just to name a few! Help break the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Bergen County with Family Promise! Family Promise is an organization in Bergen Country that Metro partners with to provide services, such as meals and shelter, to homeless mothers and children until permanent housing can be found. We are currently looking for volunteers to spend one night (from 8pm - 6am) at a church with these families on July 17, 18, and 19 - two volunteers per night. Bring yourself or the whole family down to Depot Square (behind Shoprite) from 1-5pm on Sunday, August 18 for some live music, a petting zoo, great food, games and much more! Bookbags with school supplies will also be handed out to any child who would like one. Volunteers are needed to help with a few craft stations from 11:30am, but for the most part, just come down and have fun in and with the city we hold dear! Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality or "EHS" is a spiritual revolution that has taken the church by storm. Over the last couple of years, thousands of churches across the world have embraced this program in an effort to address a hidden truth in our spiritual lives: that one cannot be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. Starting Sunday, April 7, Metro's Institute of Transformation will be offering an 8-week EHS course taught by Pastor Michael Yi and his team of well-trained leaders from 3-5pm at the Metro Office, making for a very unique workshop/small group hybrid experience.
